Subject: Welcome to the Advanced Crew Training Programme (ACTP)

Star, planet and asteroids Citizen,

As noted in the attached briefing documents, the inversion point is approaching. To deal with the additional stress on the ship's systems at this time, carefully selected members of crew are receiving additional training to handle any emergencies that may arise. Congratulations citizen, you have been selected to be part of this exclusive group. Humanity is counting on you!

Please report to the Forum in person or by telepresence hologram for briefing at 06:00 Standard Ship Time.

Asimov Mission Oversight Program

Introduction

Generation is the Oxford University RPG society live-action game for Michaelmas 2012 and Hilary 2013.

It is a near-future science fiction game set on the generation ship Asimov as it sails through the void towards its ultimate destination. As a member of the new advanced crew training programme, you will be called upon to solve critical tasks, face unknown dangers, and deal with the ambitions of your co-travellers in order to keep the mission on-course and keep humanity's last hope alive. To make your task easier, you can look forward to “assistance” from the shipboard Computer — and of course, your fellow crew members.

The setting of Generation is dark and gritty — dystopian science fiction. Inspired by the works of Isaac Asimov and Robert Heinlein, as well as Lord of the Flies, Alien, Portal and Red Dwarf, Generation is designed to be a rich and intimate setting highlighting characters and their relationships.
